Mike Gruwell is an Atlanta drummer with more than 35 years experience rooted in jazz, funk and punk rock.
Mike is the drummer for Red Hot Empty with several recent releases, including Peckish, Crankshaft Sensor, the Burden EP and the Corridors album. The melodic thrash punk band plays frequent shows in the Atlanta area. Mike’s full upcoming live show calendar with Red Hot Empty along with other bands and musical projects is linked here.

Mike was previously based out of Seattle, working his way through jazz combos, original punk bands and funk rock bands as well as playing in church in the ’80s. In the ’90s he was a member of several original rock and funk bands until moving to Georgia in 1997. Mike served local churches behind the kit on a weekly basis for several years.
